Prediction and Conclusion

The four-time US Open champion started his route to the fifth title in New York with a confident win in the first round. Now he will face his fellow Serb Laslo Djere, who pushed him to the fifth set at the same stage last year. Djere turned things around against Jan-Lennard Struff in the opener and has nothing to lose against Djokovic. These two know each other pretty well since they have been teammates in the Serbia Davis Cup for years, and Djokovic will routinely win this one in straight sets.
