Things are heating up in the NHL as we are going into the second month of the 2024-25 NHL regular season. As usual, there is a long schedule on Thursday, and we are going to see the betting trends for the four more interesting matchups.

The New York Islanders and the Detroit Red Wings are both on losing streaks and will try to get into the right direction when the two meet tonight. The Columbus Blue Jackets are coming off their biggest win of the season and it will be interesting to see if they can stun the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Boston Bruins made dramatic changes this week and if that will bring them any good, we are about to see when the Utah Hockey Club visit TD Garden. Lastly, the defending champions Florida Panthers are continuing their quest for the top of the East with a stop in Chicago.

How fresh the teams are will make a lot of difference in this game especially on the defensive end. The Red Wings are in a deep trouble being close to the bottom of the conference. They have won the last two against the Islanders and we go with them to win this one as well.

 

Tampa Bay Lightning vs Columbus Blue Jackets

The Tampa Bay Lightning are 7th in the Eastern Conference with a 10-6-1 record, including 4-5-0 on the road. They have won the last three games and are coming off a 3-2 overtime win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Anyway, they are coming off an impressive win in Boston and have every reason to be optimistic when they host the Lightning. Tampa Bay is ranked in the top 10 in both offensive and defensive rating and will prove their quality with another win in Columbus for their ninth win in the last 11 games against the Blue Jackets.

 

Utah Hockey Club vs Boston Bruins
