New York Rangers vs Carolina Hurricanes Game 4: Eastern Conference Playoffs – Second Round

The Carolina Hurricanes are hosting the New York Rangers tonight at the PNC Arena in Raleigh hoping to keep the series alive.

The Rangers are perfect in the Playoffs

The New York Rangers won the President Trophy with the best regular-season record in the league, and now they look even better in the playoffs. They are perfect after seven games, as they swept the Washington Capitals in the opening round and are now 3-0 up against the Carolina Hurricanes. They got the momentum of the series with two home wins and then came to Raleigh to add another one. The Rangers took the lead at the beginning of the third period but could not hold on to it in regulation. However, Artemi Panarin scored in the second minute of overtime to win the game for the Rangers with a 3-2 final score. Chris Kreider and Alexis Lafreniere also scored.

Can the Hurricanes make a miracle?

The Carolina Hurricanes came into the postseason as one of the favorites to win the Stanley Cup, but now they are 3-0 down in the series against the Rangers. The series score does not give the right picture of how close the Hurricanes were in every single game. All three were lost by one goal, and two of those went into overtime. Carolina took an early lead in Game 3, with Jake Guentzel scoring, and Andrei Svechnikov tied the game with less than two minutes left.

Prediction and Conclusion

The Rangers are just phenomenal in the postseason and are one win away from making it to the conference final. No one could have expected that they would sweep the hurricanes, and they have a chance to do so tonight. However, the Hurricanes are not ready for the summer break and will leave everything they have on the ice to take the series back to New York. They were close to winning each of the previous three games, and they will be able to finally do that tonight.
