New York Jets vs San Francisco 49ers: Monday Night Football
The San Francisco 49ers are hosting the New York Jets in the season opener at Levi’s Stadium on Monday.
Can the Jets turn things around?
The New York Jets won 7 games last season and missed the playoffs for the 13th consecutive year. Based on the preseason, the Jets’ fans may expect a much better year as they won all three games going into the season. First, they defeated the Washington Commanders 20-17, they beat the Carolina Panthers 15-12, and finished the preseason with a 10-6 win over the New York Giants.
Is this the season for the 49ers?
The San Francisco 49ers were so close to winning the Super Bowl last year and after a disappointing loss, they are all fired up for the upcoming season. They started the preseason with a 17-13 win over the Tennessee Titans, then lost 16-10 to the New Orleans Saints and finished with a 24-24 tie with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Prediction and Conclusion
Both teams are coming off completely different seasons. The Jets lost Aaron Rodgers in the season opener and are currently in a hold of the longest active playoff drought in the league. The Niners were so close to winning the Super Bowl but lost to the Chiefs in overtime. Rodgers is now back and ready to go, so the Jets hope for an amazing start of the season. However, that will be very hard against the Niners, with Brock Purdy becoming one of the best Bs in the league. The Niners are 4.5-point favorites going into this one, and they will cover that pretty easily.
