New York Giants vs Seattle Seahawks: Both teams are coming off a loss

The New York Giants and the Seattle Seahawks will face each other at Lumen Field on Sunday.

The Giants are struggling early

The New York Giants are at the bottom of the NFC East with a 1-3 record. They started the season with a tough 28-6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings at home. The Giants were much closer in the next one but still couldn’t get over the Washington Commanders in a 21-18 loss. The following week, the Giants won their only game so far in the season, 21-15 on the road against the Cleveland Browns. Last week, the Giants hosted the Dallas Cowboys and lost 20-15. Daniel Jones completed 29 of 40 passes for 281 yards, finding rookie Malik Nabers 12 times for 115 yards and Wan’Dale Robinson 11 times for 71 yards. Greg Joseph made five field goals for the Giants who controlled the ball most of the time but failed to score a touchdown at home for the second straight game.

Are the Seahawks a real contender?

The Seattle Seahawks are on top of the NFC West with a 3-1 record. They started the season very well winning the first three games on the schedule. First, they won 26-20 against the Denver Broncos at home and then survived an overtime for a 23-20 win against the New England Patriots on the road. Their best game came in Week 3, when the Seahawks dominated the Miami Dolphins in a 24-3 win. Just when the Seahawks looked unbeatable, they went to Detroit where the Lions won 42-29. Geno Smith was 38 of 56 for 395 yards with a 9-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end AJ Barner.

Prediction and Conclusion

The Seattle Seahawks are off to a great start of the season and the game against the New York Giants looks like a real chance to bounce back after the first loss of the season. Geno Smith was five yards short of reaching the 400-yard mark and the Seahawks should not have any problems against the Giants if he is on that level. The Seahawks’ defense is another big asset for the home team as they are fourth in the league with 3.5 sacks and fifth allowing 5 yards per play. The Giants’ offense is far from reliable as they are 21st in the league with 296.8 yards per game and at the very bottom of the league with 3.4 yards per rush. Given that, the Seahawks have a huge advantage and will use that from the very start of the game which will lead them to a win covering the -6,5-points spread.
