He is coming off a 6-3, 6-1, 6-2 win over David Goffin in the third round after beating Sebastian Korda and Fabio Fognini in the first two matches.

Machac made it to the final in Geneva this year where he lost to Casper Ruud.

This is only the second time he has played in the main draw at the US Open.
