Heat vs Warriors: Matchup between two of the last four NBA finalists

The Miami Heat will take their three-game winning streak to the Bay Area to face the Golden State Warriors tonight at Chase Center.  The Warriors will have to go against one of the toughest teams in the East without Draymond Green who is still serving the suspension.

Can the Heat keep the winning streak alive?

The Miami Heat are fourth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 18 wins and 12 losses. The Heat are coming off a 119-113 win over the Philadelphia 76ers with rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. having a career night scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds.  Tyler Herro is the leading scorer on the Heat team averaging 24 points per game followed by Bam Adebayo who has 22 points and 10 rebounds.

The Warriors are in the bottom third of the conference

Things are not going well for the Golden State Warriors this season as they sit in 11th place in the Western Conference with a 15-15 record. The Warriors were on a five-game winning streak before losing to the Denver Nuggets on Christmas Day 120-114. The warriors are the best rebounding team in the league averaging 47.4 rebounds per game. Steph Curry leads the team with 27.9 points per game followed by Klay Thompson who has 17.3.

Betting Trends

The Warriors have won 5 of the last 6 games overall and the last 8 games played at home. They have also won 8 of the last 9 games when playing at home against Miami.

Player to watch

Andrew Wiggins lost his spot in the in the Warriors starting lineup but it seems like that was exactly what he needed to start playing better. Wiggins is averaging 12.7 points per game this season and he has gone over 20 in two of the last three games coming off the bench.

Injury Reports

Gary Payton II is out for the Warriors as well as Draymond Green who is still suspended. For the Heat, Jimmy Butler, Caleb Martin and Josh Richardson are all listed as day-to-day.

Prediction and Conclusion

Just like last season, the Golden State Warriors have a slow first half of the year. They are at only 50% so far in the season. Playing without Draymond Green does not seem like a problem for Steve Kerr’s team as they have won 5 of the last 6 games. The Heat on the other hand are fourth in the Eastern Conference and have won the last three. However, it is obvious that the Warriors are picking up their form and they have won the last 8 home games. Steph Curry is coming off a tough game against the Nuggets and will bounce back tonight leading his team to another win.
