Heat vs Clippers: Can the Warriors bounce back?
The Miami Heat are continuing their road trip with a stop in Los Angeles to face the Clippers at the Crypto.com Arena.
Miami is heating up
The Miami Heat have climbed to fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a 19-13 record. The Heat are 10-7 on the road and 7-3 in the last ten games. They are coming off a 117-110 loss to the Utah Jazz after defeating the Golden State Warriors in the first game of the road trip. Miami is third in the league allowing only 86.1 field goal attempts per game and are ranked second allowing 9.5 offensive rebounds per game. Tyler Herro is the leading scorer on the Heat averaging 24.1 points per game.
Are the Clippers contenders?
The Los Angeles Clippers are fourth in the Western Conference with a 19-12 record. They are 13-4 at home and 8-2 in the last 10 games. The Clippers are looking for their third consecutive win after defeating the Charlotte Hornets and the Memphis Grizzlies. LA is 11th in the league averaging 116.6 points per game and sixth with 48.5% shooting from the field. Kawhi Leonard is leading the team with 24.4 points per game.
Betting Trends
The Miami Heat has played under total points in 5 of their last 7 games and in 8 of the last 10 against teams from the Western Conference.
Player to watch
James Harden has been under the spotlight for the wrong reasons for a while now. After refusing to play for the Sixers, he was traded to the Clippers. He had a slow start in LA but Harden has proved that he is still an elite scorer on NBA level. He is averaging 17.7 points per game for the season but that number has jumped to 20.7 points in the last 10 games.
Injury Reports
Mason Plumlee is out for the Clippers while Josh Richardson, Kyle Lowry and Caleb Martin are questionable for the Heat.
Prediction and Conclusion
Both teams are plating solid in the last week and have found a place between the top four teams in their respective conference. The Heat will play their third game in the West coast road trip. We saw completely different performance in the previous two and it is expected to see their defense on top level tonight. That is the only way for Miami to stand a chance against potent offense like the Clippers. The total point line is set at 228 for tonight and which most likely will stay untouched.
