Florida Panthers vs Edmonton Oilers: Stanley Cup Finals Game 4

The Florida Panthers have a chance to win the Stanley Cup tonight when they visit the Edmonton Oilers in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals at Rogers Place.

The Panthers are almost there

The Florida Panthers are in an excellent situation going into this game after taking a 3-0 series lead with a 4-3 win in Game 3. Sam Reinhart put the Panthers on the board late in the opening quarter and they went on to score three more goals in the second. After the Oilers tied the score, Vladimir Tarasenko, Sam Bennett, and Aleksander Barkov gave Florida a three-goal lead which Edmonton did not match by the end of the game. Barkov leads the team with 21 points so far in the playoffs followed by Matthew Tkachuk who has 20.

Can the Oilers make a miracle?

The Edmonton Oilers came to the finals series with their confidence high but now they are 3-0 down and will have to do a miracle to turn the series around. After scoring only one goal in two games in Florida, they had to pick their game up at home but failed to do so. The Oilers found themselves down a goal at the end of the first period and then Warren Foegele tied the score. In the rest of the second period, Edmonton allowed three unanswered goals. They tried to get back in the game in the final period when Philip Broberg and Ryan McLeod brought the team back to only a one-goal deficit but they still failed short at the end. Connor McDavid leads the team with 34 points in the playoffs, followed by Leon Drainsaitl with 28.

Betting Trends

They have played under the total goal line in 4 of their last 6 games overall, 6 of the last 10 against Florida, and 10 of the last 16 games against teams from the Atlantic Division, while they have gone over in 6 of the last 7 home games against the Panthers. Florida is 6-0 SU in their last 6 games overall, 5-1 SU in the last 6 games against Edmonton, 8-1 SU in the last 9 games against teams from the Western Conference, and 7-1 SU in the last 8 games against teams from the Pacific Division. They have played under the total goal line in 5 of the laast 6 games overall and in 5 of the last 7 games on the road.

Prediction and Conclusion

The Florida Panthers are one win away from winning their first-ever Stanley Cup, and they can do that tonight in Edmonton. The Panthers are playing on an amazing level, not giving the Oilers a standing chance in the first three games of the series. Edmonton will go all-in in this game, trying to avoid being swept and bring back the series to Florida. McDavid and Drainsaitl didn’t do much in Game 3 and are expected to make the difference in this one and win the game for the Oilers.
