Edmonton Oilers vs Dallas Stars: Western Conference Finals – Game 4

The Edmonton Oilers have to bounce back when they host the Dallas Stars at Rogers Place on Monday in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals.

The Stars have a huge opportunity

The Dallas Stars made a huge step towards the Stanley Cup final with a 5-3 win on the road in the previous meeting. Jason Robertson had one of the best games of his career, scoring a hat-trick. After the Stars found themselves down by two points going into the second period, Robertson scored twice and Wyatt Johnston added one goal, which saw the Stars take over the lead by the midpoint of the game. Robertson scored his third goal in the final period, and Miro Heiskanen set the final score on an empty net. Robertson is the leading scorer for the Stars in the playoffs with 16 points, one more than Heiskanen.

The Oilers need to step up

The Edmonton Oilers came into Game 3 as favorites after stealing one game on the road in Dallas. Everything started well for them after Zach Hyman and Connor McDavid put the Oilers 2-0 up after less than 8 minutes played. However, it was all the Stars for the rest of the game, and the Oilers allowed five goals while only Adam Henrique hit the net. Leon Draisiatl and David McDavid are on top of the scoring list for the Oilers, with 25 points each so far in the postseason.

Prediction and Conclusion

We saw Game 3 turning around in the Stars, and that can be the crucial point in this series. The Oilers had the better start of the series, winning on the road in Dallas, but the Stars have taken over the momentum. It is incredible to see how well Dallas played on the road in the last couple of months of the season, and they were very aggressive against the Oilers, who are one of the best home teams in the league. Edmonton bounced back every time they needed it so far in the postseason, so we expect them to do exactly the same tonight and tie the series.
