Prediction and Conclusion
Daniil Medvedev has a tough season as he has yet to win a title this year after winning five in 2023. The Russian has lost the last three matches and will need to pick his game up in Tokyo. Monfils is back on the court after almost an entire month, and it is questionable how good he is at the moment. The Frenchman definitely has the serve and movement for this surface, but Medvedev is the one who is in better physical shape, and that will make all the difference in this game. Monfils will be competitive to a certain point, but Medvedev will win this match in straight sets.
