We got the best schools in the country going in action on Saturday. Therefore, we put up our game breakdowns and college basketball betting trends for four of the most interesting games of the night.

Kansas is coming off a heartbreaking loss and will try to bounce back against Baylor. Marquette is probably the best team no one is really talking about and they will have a chance to prove that when they host St. John’s. Purdue and Indiana will face each other in one of the biggest rivalries in the game and USC will try to save the season when they visit Stanford.

Let’s take a deeper look at the college basketball betting trends for these four games.

Baylor vs Kansas

The Baylor Bears are second in the Big 12 with a 17-5 record, including 6-3 in conference play. The Bears were on a three-game losing streak before bouncing back with three consecutive wins. They are coming off a 79-73 win over Texas Tech, with Ray J. Dennis scoring 21 points and 5 assists. Ja’Kobe Walter leads Baylor with 14.2 points per game this season. The Bears are third in the nation, shooting 40.3% from three-point territory, and are ranked 18th, scoring 83.7 points per game.

The Kansas Jayhawks are fourth in the Big 12 with an 18-5 record and 8-4 in conference play. They have won three of the last five games but are coming off a 75-70 overtime loss against Kansas State. Hunter Dickinson had another solid performance, recording 21 points and 12 rebounds. Kevin McCullar Jr. leads the Jayhawks with 19.5 points and 4.6 assists per game. Kansas is third in the league, shooting 51% from the field, and ninth in assists-to-turnover ratio.

Baylor vs Kansas: College basketball betting trends

Baylor is 12-7-2 ATS for the season, 3-1-0 ATS on the road and 8-5-2 ATS after a win. Kansas is 10-12-1 ATS for the season, 6-5-1 ATS at home and 3-1-0 ATS after a loss.

Prediction and Conclusion

Kansas is ranked fourth in the country, but we have seen that they are vulnerable in recent weeks. Losing to Kansas State is a huge hit for the Jayhawks, and bouncing back against Baylor will not be easy at all. The Bears had a bad tenure, but once they got back on track, they looked very good. Kansas is a 8-point favorite going into this one, which is understandable knowing that they are perfect after 13 home games. Still, Baylor is a huge challenge, and the Bears will find a way to stay close in this game and cover the given spread.

St. John’s vs Marquette

The St. John’s Red Storm are sixth in the Big East with a 14-9 record, including 6-6 in conference play. They have lost five of the last seven games and are coming off an 85-57 win over DePaul. Senior guard Jordan Dingle led the Red Storm with 14 points and 5 assists. Center Joel Soriano is the best player on the Red Storm, leading the team with 15.9 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. The Red Storm are making only 6.7 three-pointers per game and are shooting 43.9% from the field, not being among the top 200 schools in both categories.

The Marquette Golden Eagles are second in the Big East with a 17-5 record for the season and 8-3 record in conference play. They have won the last six games and are coming off a 91-57 win over Georgetown. Kam Jones had a career night, scoring 31 points against the Hoyas. Guard Tyler Kolek leads the Golden Eagles, averaging 15.1 points and 7.2 assists per game, which ranks him sixth in the nation. Marquette is ranked 39th in the nation, shooting 47.6% from the field, and 31st with 16.4 assists per game.

St. John’s vs Marquette: College basketball betting trends

Marquette has played under the total point line in 14 of 22 games this season, in 7 of 11 games at home and in 10 of 16 games following a win. St. John’s has done that in 11 of 23 games so far  in the season, in 3 of 6 games on the road and in 5 of 13 after a win.

Prediction and Conclusion

Marquette is a team that may be a dark horse candidate to go deep in the NCAA tournament. They play very well on both ends of the floor and will take full advantage of the Red Storm defense. St. John’s has no other choice but to pick up the pace and try to compete. The Red Storm are a poor shooting team, but they fight for every possession and will try to stay close. Marquette is a major favorite in this one, and given the odds and the spread, the best choice is to go with over 153 points in total.

Indiana vs Purdue

The Indiana Hoosiers are eighth in the Big Ten with a 14-9 record, including 6-6 in conference play. Indiana has lost four of its last six games and is coming off a 76-73 win over Ohio State. Malik Reneu had the best game of the season, recording 26 points and 14 rebounds. The sophomore forward leads the Hoosiers with 16.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Indiana is 41st in the country, shooting 47.6% from the field, but is much worse when it comes to three-point shooting, being ranked 220th with 33.1%.

The Purdue Boilermakers are ranked second in the nation and are on top of the Big Ten. They are 21-2 for the season and 10-2 in conference play. Purdue has won the last seven games and is coming off a 75-69 win over Wisconsin. Senior guard Lance Jones stepped up, leading the Boilermakers with 20 points, while Zach Edey finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Edey leads Purdue with 23.1 points and 11.7 rebounds per game, ranking in the top 4 in the country in both categories.

Indiana vs Purdue: College basketball betting trends

Purdue is 13-8-2 ATS for the season, 5-5-1 ATS at home and 11-7-2 ATS after a win. Indiana is 11-11-1 ATS for the season, 3-2-1 ATS on the road and 5-8-0 ATS after a win.

Prediction and Conclusion

Purdue and Indiana have different seasons, but that will not make any difference when the local rivals collide on the court. Purdue is absolutely special, with Zach Edey being one of the best players on the team. The Boilermakers are seen as -17.5-point favorites, which is a huge spread but not too big for Purdue to cover. The Boilermakers are absolutely dominant compared to Indiana in every aspect of the game, and they will prove that on the court on Saturday. There will be no mercy for the Hoosiers, as Purdue will cover the large spread.

USC vs Stanford

The USC Trojans are having a difficult season, sitting last in the Pac-12 with a 9-14 record for the season and only 3-9 in conference play. They were on a six-game losing streak before defeating Oregon State, but then lost the last one, 83-77, in overtime against California. Isaiah Collier was the best scorer for the Trojans in that one, with 20 points. Boogie Ellis leads the team with 16.8 points per game this season. USC is shooting 35.4% from deep, being 110th in the nation, and they are 186th shooting from the field with 44.7%.

The Stanford Cardinal are seventh in the Pac-12 with an 11-11 record for the season and 6-6 in conference play. They have lost three of the last five games and are coming off an 82-74 loss to UCLA. Frenchman Maxime Raynaud led the Cardinal with 20 points and 10 rebounds. He is the best player at Stanford this season, averaging 14.8 points and 10 rebounds per game while shooting 55.8% from the field. Stanford is 12th in the nation, shooting 38.8% from three-point territory, and is ranked 54th with 47.4% shooting from the field.

USC vs Stanford: College basketball betting trends

USC has played over the total point line in 15 of 23 games so far in the season, in 5 of 8 on the road and in 8 of 13 following a loss. Stanford has done so in 14 of 22 games this season, 11 of 12 home games and in 8 of 10 games following a loss.

Prediction and Conclusion

Both teams need to step up in order to try to save the season and are under much pressure after a difficult couple of weeks. Stanford is a great shooting team, and that makes them the favorite to win tonight. Still, USC has won the last two head-to-head games, so they will definitely be competitive tonight. The total point line is set at 151.5 points, which will not be a problem to be surpassed by the teams that have gone over in the vast majority of their previous games this season.
