We have a busy weekend with the college basketball betting trends as dozens of games are scheduled for Saturday. We picked the top four of them, giving you detailed analyses and predictions.

North Carolina is hosting Syracuse in an early game and is a major favorite to win that one, just like Kansas, which is hosting Oklahoma. The top team in the nation, Purdue, is hosting Penn State, while Georgia Tech will try to make an upset when they visit Duke.

Let’s take a deeper look at the college basketball betting trends for these four games.

North Carolina vs Oklahoma

The North Carolina Tar Heels are having a solid season with a 12-3 record. They are 6-0 at home and have won all four previous ACC games. The Tar Heels are currently on a five-game winning streak and are coming off a 67-54 win over North Carolina State. The Tar Heels are ranked 29th in the nation with 82.5 points per game and 38.1 rebounds per game. They are one of the teams that go most on the line with 18.8 free throws per game. Guard RJ Davis is the best player on the team, spending 34.1 minutes per game on the court and averaging 20.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 39.6% from three-point territory.

The Syracuse Orange have an 11-4 record. They are 1-2 on the road and have split the four conference games so far in the season. Syracuse has won six of the last seven games, losing only to Duke, and is coming off a 69-59 win over Boston College. Syracuse scores 76.9 points per game, which ranks them 128th in the country. They are just an average shooting team, with 45.1% of the field being ranked 167th in the nation. Guard Judah Mintz leads the team with 18.5 points and 3.9 assists while shooting 37.2% from the field.

North Carolina vs Oklahoma: College basketball betting trends

The Tar Heels are 9-6-0 ATS in 15 games this season and 3-3-0 ATS at home. The Orange are 7-8-0 ATS for the season and 1-2-0 on the road.

Prediction and Conclusion

The North Carolina Tar Heels are in excellent form, winning the last five games. After three consecutive double-digit wins on the road, the Tar Heels are finally back home to host Syracuse. The Orange are also in solid form, but they are still not close to being a threat to the Tar Heels today. The point spread is 13.5 in favor of the Tar Heels, who have covered the spread in 9 of 15 games this season. North Carolina will go on to a fast start in this game, taking control early on and being able to cover the given spread.

Kansas vs Oklahoma

The Kansas Jayhawks are ranked third in the nation and currently have a 13-2 record. They have won all nine home games this season and have split the two conference games. After nine consecutive wins, the Jayhawks were stunned by UCF in the last game, losing 65-60. Kansas is an excellent shooting team, being ranked 10th in the nation with 50.7% shooting from the field. They are also very solid from the three-point territory, shooting 36.7% which brings them 61st in the nation. Kevin Mccullar Jr. leads the Jayhawks with 19.8 points per game while shooting 38.1% from the field. Hunter Dickinson shoots over 50% from deep and averages 18.9 points for Kansas.

The Oklahoma Sooners are 13-2 this season. They have lost the only road game this season and split the first two conference games. Oklahoma started with an 11-game winning streak and lost two of the last five games. The loss against North Carolina was expected up to a certain point, while the last one, 80-71, against TCU was one of the biggest surprises of the day. Oklahoma scores 81 points per game, which ranks them among the top 50 teams in the nation. When it comes to field goal percentage, they are ranked 17th with 49.5% from the field. Guard Javian McCollum leads the team with 14.9 points per game, followed by Otega Oweh who has 14.3.

Kansas vs Oklahoma: College basketball betting trends

Kansas has played under a total point line in 9 of the 15 games this season, including 4 of 8 at home. Oklahoma has been under in 7 of 15 games this season.

Prediction and Conclusion

Kansas is ranked third in the nation and is a very hard team to beat at home. They are a 5.5-point favorite today, but Oklahoma has everything they need to keep the game close. The Jayhawks played under the total point line in 9 of 15 games this season and with the line being set at 142.5, this game will most likely stay under it.

Purdue vs Penn State

The Purdue Boilermakers are ranked number one in the country. Currently, they have a 14-2 record. Purdue has won all eight home games this season and is 3-2 in the conference. Purdue saw their seven-game winning streak snapped in the last game, losing 88-72 against Nebraska. Purdue is 19th in the nation with 84.4 points per game and is ranked sixth with 27.3 defensive rebounds per game. They are just an average free-throw shooting team, with 72.4% from the stripe. Zach Edey leads Purdue with 21.8 points per game and 10.4 rebounds.

Penn State has an 8-8 record so far in the season and is 2-3 in the conference. They have won three of the last five games and are coming off a 76-72 loss to Northwestern. The Nittany Lions are a poor shooting team, being ranked 263th in the nation with 43.2% shooting from the field, and are even worse when it comes to three-point shooting with 29.7% (323rd). Guard Kanye Clary leads the team with 18.8 points per game, followed by Ace Baldwin Junior with 13.1.

Purdue vs Penn State: College basketball betting trends

Purdue has played over the total point line in 11 of 16 games so fat in the season, including 5 of 8 at home. Penn State has done so in 9 of 16 games in the season and in both road games.

Prediction and Conclusion

The Purdue Boilermakers are ranked number one in the nation for a reason, and they will prove that once again today against Penn State. They look unbeatable at home and have gone over the total point line in 11 of 16 games this season, including five of eight at home. Penn State is also scoring a lot of points despite their poor shooting percentage. They have gone over the total point line in nine of 16 games this season. The total point line is set at 151.5 and Purdue will lead this one much over that margin.

Duke vs Georgia Tech

The Duke Blue Devils are ranked 11th in the nation and currently have 12 wins and 3 losses, being 8-1 at home and 3-1 in the conference. The Blue Devils are on a seven-game winning streak and are coming off a 75-53 win over Pittsburgh. Duke scores 81.9 points per game, being ranked 37th in the nation. They are 33rd with 16.7 assists and 28th with 48.9% shooting from the field. Kyle Filipowski leads the team with 17.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while shooting 53% from the field.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have 8 wins and 7 losses this season and are 1-3 on the road and 1-3 in conference games. They are going through a difficult period of the season, losing the last four games, and are coming off a 75-68 overtime loss to Notre Dame. Georgia Tech shoots only 42% from the field, not being among the top 300 teams in the country. They are only 29.6% from the three-point line and 65.8% from the free-throw line. Miles Kelly leads the team with 15.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

Duke vs Georgia Tech: College basketball betting trends

Duke is 9-6-0 ATS for the season and 6-3-0 ATS at home. Georgia Tech is 6-9-0 ATS for the season and 1-3-0 ATS on the road.

Prediction and Conclusion

The Duke Blue Devils are among the favorites to win the national championship this season, and they will have an easy task to get another W this weekend. There are 17.5-point favorite against Georgia Tech, which looks quite high but seeing the shooting percentages of the visitors, Duke will have no problems covering that in a blowout win.
