Bulls vs Blazers: Both teams are underachieving this season

The Portland Trail Blazers will host the Chicago Bulls at Moda Center on Sunday night.

The Bulls are finishing their three-game road trip

The Chicago Bulls are ninth in the Eastern Conference with a 21-25 record. They have lost the last two games against the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers on the road. The Bulls are among the bottom five teams in the league, scoring 111.1 points per game, and are ranked third in allowed field goal attempts per game. DeMar DeRozan leads the Bulls with 22.1 points per game.

Portland still looks for its identity

The Portland Trail Blazers made significant changes in the offseason, parting ways with Damian Lillard after 11 seasons. They gave the starting point guard position to rookie Scoot Henderson, who still needs time to adapt to the league. The Blazers are 14th in the Western Conference with a 13-32 record. They have lost three of the last four games and are coming off a 116-100 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, with Anfernee Simons scoring a season-high 40 points. Simons leads the team with 23.7 points per game. The Blazers are the worst team in the league, shooting 43.6% from the field, and are ranked 23rd in three-point percentage with 35.6%.

Betting Trends

These two teams have gone over the total point line in 4 of the last 5 head-to-head games. Chicago has played over in 6 of their last 9 games overall, in 5 of their last 6 games against Western Conference opponents, and in 6 of their last 7 games against teams from the Northwestern Division.

Prediction and Conclusion

Both teams are struggling this season. That could have been expected from the Blazers, but the Bulls have the potential to do much more. Chicago is expected to be active before the trade deadline, and until they finalize the roster for the season, they will have many ups and downs. Winning is not a priority for the Blazers at the moment, as they are in a rebuilding process. The total point line is set at 217 for this game, which is quite low. Despite the fact that these two teams are among the worst when it comes to shooting percentage, this will be a run-and-gun basketball game that will go over the total point line.
