Buffalo Bills vs New York Jets: An AFC East matchup

The Buffalo Bills are visiting the New York Jets at  MetLife Stadium on Monday.

Can the Bills bounce back?

The Buffalo Bills are on top of the AFC East with a 3-2 record. They had a strong start of the season but the tough schedule was obviously too much for them. They went 3-0 with two blowout wins but lost the last two on the road against the Ravens and the Texans. The Bills found themselves 17-3 down on halftime in Houston but went on to score 14 points in the third quarter. Anyway, things did not go well for them in the finish as Texans’ Ka′imi Fairbairn made a 59-yard field goal as time expired.

The Jets already made a coaching change

The New York Jets are 2-3 to start the season and are second in the AFC East. The record is not something they can be happy with as they were also on the verge of beating the Denver Broncos. Last week, the Jets traveled to London to face the Minnesota Vikings and the trip to Europe will not be in a good memory, since they lost one 23-17. Aaron Rodgers was 29 of 54 for 244 yards, two touchdown passes, and three interceptions.

Prediction and Conclusion

The New York Jets entered the season with the goal of ending the NFL’s longest active playoff drought, which had lasted 13 years. They therefore made the decision to remove offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and head coach Robert Saleh after losing two straight games. The squad will now be led by interim coach Jeff Ulbrich for Monday’s matchup with the Bills. Veteran Aaron Rodgers is aware that the players will ultimately determine whether the coaching change has an impact. He acknowledged that Saleh’s dismissal is largely due to the team’s performance, and the four-time MVP must take the lead first. Despite passing for 1,093 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions this season, he has only completed 61 percent of his attempts and has been sacked 13 times. Josh Allen has also been having difficulties recently. The Bills lost to the Texans 23-20 on the road last weekend, with the quarterback going just 9-30 for 131 yards and one touchdown. Buffalo is only 22nd in total offense (299.8) but still third in scoring (28.4 points) despite the defeat. Khalil Shakir leads the Bills in both receptions (18) and receiving yardage (230). He missed the Bills’ final practice, but Monday is when he should start. Taking everything into consideration, we predict that the Bills will win on Monday Night Football.
