Nakashima is coming off a 6-3, 6-2 win over Nicolas Arseneault in the qualifiers. Last week, he lost to Ben Shelton in the round of 16 in Washington in two tiebreaks.
Nakashima’s best results this season were winning the title at the Tenerife Challenger and reaching the final in Koblenz.
This is his second appearance in Montreal after losing in the opening round in 2022.

Harris is coming off a 6-4, 6-2 win over Adam Walton in the qualifiers. Last week in Washington, he lost in the qualifiers, 6-3, 7-5 to Paul Jubb.
Earlier this season, Harris reached the semifinals at the Challenger Tour in Surbiton, Nottingham and at the ATP Eastbourne.

Brandon Nakashima is one of the most active players on the tour this season, as he has already played 68 matches in 2024. The American has his ups and downs, but the talent and the potential are definitely there. Harris is one of the best stories on the tour, as this guy was barely keeping his tennis career alive and then made a huge jump to play in the Masters-level tournaments. Still, Harris lacks experience on this stage, and that will be obvious today as Nakashima will win this one in straight sets.
