She is coming off a 6-2, 6-4 win over Julia Ostapenko in the quarterfinals. Previously in the tournament, Sabalenka defeated Elina Svitolina, Dayana Yastermska, and Katie Volynets.

Collins won back-to-back titles earlier this year, defeating Elena Rybakina in the final in Miami and Darya Kasatkina in the final in Charleston.
