Prediction and Conclusion
Both players are on the rise, and while Arthur Fils has been the better overall player, Matteo Arnaldi is the one who has won all four of their previous head-to-head matches. The last one was only a couple of months ago, when the Italian beat Fils in front of his home crowd at the French Open. Now they will face each other again on the same courts, but in the Olympic tournament. Fils is coming off the biggest win of his career and is in much better form than Arnaldi. Given that and the support of the home crowd, we are going with Fils to advance to the second round.
