Sebastian Korda Profile

Sebastian Korda has the highest career ranking being No. 18 in the world. The American is 29-17 for the season and 15-6 on hard.

Korda skipped the round of 16 after Casper Ruud withdrew and previously defeated Taylor Fritz 6-4, 7-6, and played just three games against Vasek Pospisil before the Canadian retired.

Last week, Korda won the tournament in Washington defeating Vlavio Cobolli in the final. That was his second final of the season after losing to Alex de Minaur in Hertogenbosch.

This is his first appearance in Montreal.

Head-to-Head

This will be the first match between Alexander Zverev and Sebastian Korda.

Prediction and Conclusion

The weather conditions in Montreal caused some difficulties this week, and whoever wins this match will also play in the semifinals today. Integerally, this will be the first match between these two players, who have similar styles of play. Zverev has been way more successful, but Korda plays the best tennis of his career. The American played a total of two and a half sets to reach the quarterfinals and is ready for a fight against Zverev. The German is still the favorite, but this is a huge opportunity for Korda to reach the top 15, so we go with Korda covering the +3.5-game spread.
